DIRECTIONS AND MAP

autumn sunset

Coming via Bathurst
Follow the Mitchell Highway towards Orange. At 35 km from the western edge of Bathurst you will see a signpost on the left pointing to BYNG on the right. Make an acute turn past an old bluestone church. Be careful at night as you will have to almost stop to make the turn.

Coming from Orange
Follow the Mitchell Highway for 16 km from the eastern edge of Orange and turn right at the old bluestone church with the signpost to BYNG.

Once you’re on the road to Byng , drive 1.5 km on bitumen until you reach a T-Junction. Straight ahead you will see the sign “Godolphin” on the gates to a poplar-lined, gravel driveway. Cross the grid and continue just 2 km down the unsealed driveway, around the big hill and past the shearing sheds until you reach The Stables (The Dairy is nearby).

Drive carefully and slowly and be on the lookout for livestock (black cattle are hard to see at night), kangaroos, speed bumps and the occasional pothole.

GPS Coordinates
If using GPS it is best to enter the GPS coordinates for the main turnoff from the Highway 32, and then use the trip meter for the last 3.5 km. Do NOT follow Miles Road which no longer exists (though often still marked) at about 1 km further west of the BYNG turn. The decimal GPS coordinates for the BYNG turnoff are South 33.39442 (i.e.33 Degrees-23 Minutes-39 Seconds) and East 149.23248 (149D-13M-56S)
